Close to the Knives: A Memoir of Disintegration

When I was first coming out, a friend of a friend insisted I read Close to the Knives: A Memoir of Disintegration by David Wojnarowicz. At first I didn't get why. He was a radical artist/activist in the East Village in the peak of the AIDS crisis. I was a kid from the suburbs who'd gone on to university life in a small Ontario town. So a journey of discovery began/continued ... including Archie lol :)
